QU Relocates Halloween with the Hawks

By: David Jacob

This Saturday, October 31st, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., Quincy University (QU) is hosting their annual Halloween with the Hawks.  Typically in the Health and Fitness Center, this year’s event is relocated to QU Stadium at the newly renovated football field.

This event is open to the public.  Parents are invited to come out to QU Stadium with their children and enjoy the festivities. Children are encouraged to dress up in their costumes and play games with some of QU’s athletes.

QU’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) is hosting this event to get student-athletes involved in the community.

President of SAAC Amy Kuhle said, “Last year we had around 200 kids show up and this year we are expecting more to be involved enjoying the fun, especially at the new football field.”

Each sport at QU is required to make up a game for trick-or-treaters.  The children go around to their favorite stations and at the end they get candy. These events are suitable for all ages and are completely safe.

Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations Danielle Suprenant said, “This is one of the most popular events held here at Quincy University. We have been working effortlessly for this night to be a success and expect an increase in trick-or-treaters.”

For more information on the event, call Surprenant at (217) 228-5432, Extension 3508.
