Friar attack update

Quincy man, George Scott, will be arraigned after going through a mental health fitness exam and spending a month at the McFarland Mental Health Center in Springfield Illinois.

Scott was accused of attacking a QU Frair last April at the Brenner Library.

The incident started when Scott was reportedly upset that Brother Terry Santiapillia denied him access to the library one night prior to the incident. The next evening, witnesses say Scott attacked Santiapillia with a stick that he tore off a nearby bush. Witnesses report Scott was subdued by a student and held there until police arrived.

Scott is awaiting trial.

Adams County court records state that Scott is being charged for aggravated battery in a public place and aggravated battery of an school employee which are both class E felonies.

The arraignment is scheduled for November 29th.
