Quincy University students can now save money at local businesses and online retailers through a variety of student discount programs. Whether grabbing a bite to eat, shopping for clothes, or purchasing school supplies, students are encouraged to take advantage of these perks to ease financial stress.

Many Quincy businesses have partnered with the university to offer special discounts for students. Local restaurants, hotels, and auto shops are on the list of participating vendors, giving students more affordable options around town. Some of the popular spots offering discounts include Culvers, Qdoba, and Panda Express, where students can save up to 10-15% on their purchases.

“Having discounts at places that are already fairly cheap is very convenient so when the Cafe isn’t good that night I can go out and get food and not break my bank on one meal,” Keaton Weaver said.

In addition to local savings, Quincy University students can access a wide variety of national and online discounts through platforms like UNiDAYS and Student Beans. Both services allow students to create free accounts using their university email, unlocking discounts from major brands such as Apple, Dell, Adidas, and Spotify.

Students looking to upgrade their technology for academic purposes or personal use can find significant savings on laptops and software. Apple, for example, provides educational discounts that can reduce the cost of MacBooks, iPads, and software like Adobe Premier by up to 10%.

Example of a discount: students are eligible for a reduced Spotify rate.

“It’s nice to have a bit of a discount so we can have a little more money for things to do around town and other necessities we may need,” said Nolan May.

For students who shop for clothing, popular brands like Nike, Urban Outfitters, and H&M offer discounts ranging from 10-20% through these online student platforms. Even entertainment services like Hulu and Amazon Prime provide students with lower subscription fees, making it easier to stream content and enjoy fast shipping on purchases.

UNiDAYS verifies a student’s status through the university email and offers immediate access to the available deals.

“I take advantage of the Amtrak ticket discount so it is cheaper to get home and back to school for breaks because I don’t have a car on campus” stated Zack Kopsea

For local stores, simply presenting a valid Quincy University ID card is often enough to claim the available discounts. Students should check with individual businesses to confirm their participation in the discount program and any specific terms or restrictions that apply.

With the rising cost of education and living expenses, these discounts offer a welcome financial break for Quincy University students. The university and its partnerships with both local and national vendors aim to support students in managing their expenses while fostering connections within the Quincy community.

Students are encouraged to take full advantage of the available savings opportunities, both locally and online, to make the most of their time at Quincy University without straining their wallets.
