Quincy University Dining: Best Student Picks

Chicken Alfredo dinner set up.

Quincy University students are some of the people plagued every night with the question of ‘what’s for dinner?’. While the University’s Cafe does provide a selection of food to most students, from time to time, some students venture out into the world to find other options, but what is the best option?

Research has been done to establish some of the more popular restaurant options among Quincy University students. Things taken into consideration when choosing these places were distance from the university, price of the food, and frequency that past and current students have attended.

The chosen restaurants were then pitted against each other and put out into the hands of students. Votes were cast, friendships were questioned, and many debates occurred, but in the end, only one restaurant could come out on top.

While some matchups had more obvious winners, others, such as Pancheros v. Qdoba, caused a ruckus. Multiple students, including Autumn Van Bremen, had many things to say about Qdoba.

“I will never vote for Qdoba, I don’t like it, they put cilantro in their guac and their lettuce and everything, it’s wrong and I just don’t like it,” said Van Bremen

Other voices, such as Madisynn Crawford, had very different opinions on the subject to the point that she hardly ever goes anywhere other than Qdoba.

“Qdoba is my go-to. I went to Pancheros once, then only ever went to Qdoba again. I always get the shrimp and steak bowl, it’s the best,” said Crawford.

Another restaurant that students had strong opinions about was Tiramisu. Student Eva Norris had a very unchanging opinion about Tiramisu.

“Tiramisu is an insult to Italians, you are all uncultured,” said Norris.

Student Siobhan Rogers had a very different opinion.

“You have to get the Chicken Alfredo, there’s nothing better than it, oh, and the Chocolate lava cake thing, I still dream about the last time I was there,” said Rogers.

With the Quincy 2024-2025 school year coming to an end, make sure to try some of the universities’ students’ favorite places to eat and drink. Consider Tiramisu, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Qdoba. Given the opportunity, compare Qdoba and Pancheros and decide which side you are on.
