Down, but NOT Done!

The first weekend of March has been marked in history for the women’s basketball team of Quincy University.

On Saturday afternoon in St. Charles, Missouri, The No. 22-ranked Quincy University women’s basketball team upset No. 4-ranked and top-seeded Lewis, 59-54, in the GLVC Tournament semifinal.

That win marked head coach Jeni Garber‘s 100th career victory. Senior guard Maggie Cunningham‘s 1,000th career point was reached with her final free throw of the game. She is the 22nd member of the 1,000-point club in QU women’s basketball history.

 

 

Quincy went on to play No. 3-seed Bellarmine in the GLVC Championship game Sunday afternoon. The Lady Hawks last time playing for a GLVC championship was in 2009.

The 22nd ranked Quincy University women’s basketball team ended up just short of a Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship.

Maggie Cunningham was named to the GLVC Championship All-Tournament Team.

The NCAA Division II Selection Show airing tonight at 9 p.m. CT, will let the Lady Hawks find out who they play next weekend in the NCAA DII Midwest Regional Tournament.
