QU Siblings Patrick and Amy Kuhle Named to All-GLVC Team

The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced the Men’s and Women’s Tennis All-GLVC Teams Thursday, Apr. 28 at the awards banquet held at the GLVC Championship Tournament hosted by Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. The GLVC office collected and tallied votes submitted by the head coaches of each men’s and women’s tennis program in the league. Representing Quincy University on the Wen’s All-GLVC Team was Patrick Kuhle. QU was also honored on the Women’s All-GLVC Team with Amy Kuhle receiving recognition.

The Kuhles both competed as number ones in singles play for Quincy this season. Patrick helped lead the Hawks to their second straight GLVC Championship Tournament berth in this his senior season.

Patrick Kuhle has been named to the GLVC Academic All-Conference Team the past three seasons. This is Kuhle’s first All-GLVC Team award. Kuhle was also named the Wilson/ITA National Promoter of the Year last season.

This season, Patrick finished with an 8-10 record in singles play with a 2-3 GLVC mark. In the number one doubles role, the senior teamed up with Ryan McMillan. The Decatur, Ill. native and McMillan finished with a 10-7 record in doubles play with a 3-2 mark in the GLVC.

Amy Kuhle was named to the All-GLVC Team for the third straight season. Kuhle has also been a GLVC Academic All-Conference member for the past two seasons.

This season, the junior finished 16-11 in number one singles with a 4-2 mark in the GLVC. The Decatur, Ill. native competed at one, two, and three doubles positions while having two different partners this season. Amy teamed up with Anna Konczak at number three doubles to finish with a 7-4 record. Amy and Sydney Lynch went 1-0 in number one doubles and 3-5 in number two doubles as Lynch dealt with injury in the middle of the season.

The Quincy men play the University of Indianapolis at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Apr. 29 at Plainfield East High School in the GLVC Championship Tournament. UIndy is seeded No. 1 in the East and QU is seeded No. 4 in the West.
