The art of playing the dart game cricket

Cricket is a dart game that can be played with two, three, or four players. The game cricket is easy to learn and fun to play.

The game is played on a standard dartboard.  The objective of the game is to close out certain numbers by hitting them three times each while also building up points.

These numbers are 15 through 20 and the bullseye. Once a number is closed by a player, their opponent can no longer score on that number.

“Well, I just recently started, and it’s just a fun way to kill time. Like in between classes or just at night. And it’s actually a lot of other people playing, too. So it’s just it’s a good way to socialize and just have fun,” Griffin Taylor said.

The key strategy in cricket is picking which numbers to target and when. To start the game focus on the numbers that are easiest to hit. Numbers 20, 19, and 18 are the best choice.

Consistently hitting these numbers will earn you points while denying your opponent the opportunity to score on them. If a player hits the 20  twice, they score 40 points, 20 points per shot. If a player hits the bullseye it counts for  25 points and the 50 points for the double bullseye.

Once you’ve established a lead or control over these numbers you should start to think about strategically closing out other numbers. Doing this will block your opponent’s scoring opportunities. This means hitting the numbers your opponent needs to score on before they do. Each move that you make is calculated to restrict your opponent’s options.

It is smart to not neglect your own scoring opportunities while focusing on blocking your opponent. In cricket learning how to balance is crucial because maintaining a lead in points is just as important as preventing your opponent from scoring.

Another aspect to consider is the risk-reward factor. While aiming for triple or double scores can significantly boost your points, it also increases the risk of missing and allowing your opponent to capitalize. It is better to play safe when up and to attack when down.

“I start by putting all my weight on my right foot and I take the dart and I bring it up to my right eyebrow and then release point at the target,” Riley Kiesswatter said.

To improve you should practice your aiming skill throwing darts at certain numbers.  Your aiming skills and consistency will slowly start to improve.
