Who has the best brews off campus?

Quincy’s coffee scene is growing. Not every shop is the same. Not every cup of coffee is equal. But four spots keep coming up in conversation: Electric Fountain, Shots Fired, Carters and a spot across the river called Hebrews.
Let’s see why.
Electric Fountain has become a favorite for people in town who care about craft coffee. They roast their beans in-house. The shop is small but busy. Students, workers, and locals all come out for the atmosphere. People leave feeling like they have been somewhere on purpose, somewhere different.
Shots Fired is newer, but it’s making a big impression. The vibe is strong like the coffee, and the drinks are creative. Locals love the vibe. Art from Quincy artists decorates the walls. It’s loud at times, busy at others, and always welcoming. Some come to meet friends, others to sit down with laptops, others to grab something to go.
“My personal favorite is Shots fired, The coffee tastes way better then all of the other shops in town,” said Angelina Pagliaccio.
Carters have been around for a while and are all about convenience. They have a fast drive-thru and a simple menu. It is not fancy, but it is the most prominent. People stop in before work or class, grab their lotus, and get on with their day. For some, Carters is routine; it is something familiar in the morning rush.
Hebrews XI coffee is your typical drive-thru coffee spot located in West Quincy across the river. It has long lines during rush hour but it seems to be the consensus top pick for many students.
“I like to go to Hebrews because they have such a bigger variety of things whether that be different drinks or flavors, its definitely worth the drive,” said Megan Schill.
Each one has its own appeal. Electric Fountain is for the ones who seek a slower, more thoughtful experience. Shots Fired is for those who enjoy energy, creativity, and a social vibe. Carters is for those seeking convenience and consistency.
Choosing the best coffee shop in Quincy isn’t easy. Some pick based on taste, some based on speed, some based on atmosphere. Every shop has its fans. Every shop has its regulars.
Still, if you ask around, one thing becomes clear: these three shops shape Quincy’s coffee scene. They’re the places people talk about. The places people recommend. The ones that keep the city buzzing in the mornings.
Quincy has choices: Electric Fountain, Shots Fired, Carters. Each has its place. Each has its following. Each is different, but ultimately they all have coffee.
