Student-athletes struggle to grab lunch between classes and practice at Quincy University

The rest of the week, her schedule makes it almost impossible to get to the café during the 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. lunch window. Instead, she often doesn’t eat until much later in the afternoon sometimes right before practice.

For senior forward Acheampomaa Danso, the day marked the culmination of a four-year journey defined by commitment and sacrifice. Originally committed elsewhere, Danso chose Quincy University to be closer to her sister and to attend a Catholic institution. That decision shaped her college career both on and off the court.

How students can report mistreatment by authority figures at Quincy University

It can be a challenge for students to report mistreatment for fear of losing either their academic or sports scholarship. Many athletes have said that they also fear their spot on the field is being taken away by their coach if they consider to report a claim about their coach.

This superstition has become one of QU’s most well-known stories among students. But one senior says that she is living proof that the myth does not hold up. Alyssa Amaral, a graduating senior, walked under the Penny Lane kiosk early in her time at QU.

Quincy University’s Women’s Soccer Team returns to GLVC Tournament for first time in 5 years

The Lady Hawks secured their postseason spot with a 2-0 win against Missouri S&T on Sunday, Oct. 19th, 2025. The last time Quincy reached the GLVC Tournament was the 2020-21 season, so making this achievement is a major milestone for the program.
