This superstition has become one of QU’s most well-known stories among students. But one senior says that she is living proof that the myth does not hold up. Alyssa Amaral, a graduating senior, walked under the Penny Lane kiosk early in her time at QU.

Willer Hall Residents still waiting for the “Pizza alarm” after months of false fire alerts

The deal is simple: if Willer Hall can make it 60 consecutive days without a single fire alarm, the residents will be rewarded with what they’re calling the “pizza alarm,” a hall-wide pizza party to celebrate. But months into the semester, that goal remains unmet.

Quincy University Willer Hall residents paint the night away

Quincy University residents participated in a destressing painting event on February 24, 2025, in Willer Hall. Despite a shortage of white paint, students enjoyed creating their artwork, fostering camaraderie. The success prompted plans for similar future events, including a Mario Kart game night.
