Lady Hawks Tennis Picked Sixth

QUINCY ILL – The Quincy University women’s tennis team was ranked sixth in this year’s Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) West Division coaches’ poll. The poll was released Thursday, Jan. 28, with all 14 GLVC head coaches casting their ballots that were gathered by the conference office. Drury ranked on top the West Division with 13 first place votes while Indianapolis earned the top spot in the East Division with 12 first place votes.
QU (4-0) opened by winning four dual matches, the Lady Hawks earned two third place and second place finishes, while also capturing a first place finish in singles play during the QU tournament . In doubles play the Lady Hawks earned a third, second and first place finish.
Morgan McGinnis is on a seven match winning streak in both singles and doubles play along with her partner Anna Morrissey. Amy Khule holds a five game winning streak in singles play while Elizabeth Kuenzi has four straight wins in singles.
The Lady Hawks finished fifth in the GLVC West last season just missing the GLVC Tournament due to a tiebreaker scenario that sent Rockhurst instead. Quincy is returning five of their top six singles from last season and two doubles combos.
