QU Baseball Owns GLVC West

QUINCY, Ill. – The GLVC Baseball Preseason Coaches’ Poll released on January 27th, compiled of all 16 coaches vote for both divisions and the conference office. Chosen to finish atop the GLVC West Division receiving 12 first place votes, was Quincy University. With 11 first place votes, The University of Indianapolis was picked to finish first in the GLVC East.
The Hawks finished second in the GLVC Championship Tournament, while recording their fourth 40 win season in program history (40-17) as it was the first since 2006. Four returning players, David Jacob, Teddy Rule, and Graham Spraker all earned second team honors on all-region teams last season.
Quincy Baseball is followed by Drury with one first place vote and Truman State receiving two first place votes.
“It’s always cool to be picked to win, now we just have to make it happen on the field,” says Bobby Keller, the second base junior.
The start of the Hawks’ season begins at Trevecca Nazarene against the host, Wayne State, and then travel to Nashville, Tenn. against Walsh starting Feb. 26.
