QU to Host Second “Clarinet Day”

By: Sarah Vahlkamp
Quincy University is looking to make “Clarinet Day” an annual tradition. For the second year in a row, QU’s music program will host the event on February 6, 2016, in the Connie Niemann Center for Music. It will feature a clarinet choir composed of area high school clarinet players.
Clarinet players in grades 9-12 are encouraged to attend and all abilities are welcome. There is no cost to attend the event and lunch is included. Participants will spend the afternoon rehearsing music and learning about the clarinet and each student will receive a gift bag full of music items. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and culminates with a concert at 4:00 p.m. for family and friends.
