As part of QUMedia’s expanding social media efforts, the QUMedia Snapchat account will be following the Quincy University Men’s Baseball team on their opening weekend to Millington, Tennessee.
QUMedia will be following the team from their 8:30 a.m. departure Thursday until the team returns to Quincy Sunday night. Followers will see short interviews with players and coaches, video and pictures of game preparation, and behind the scenes access to what happens on a college baseball road trip.
Add “qumedia” on Snapchat to see what the players, coaches and families are up to this weekend and join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter with #HawkOpeningWeekend.
“I hope this is a good opportunity for people to see what our road trips are like,” Preseason All-American Dom Miles said. “They will see some of our baseball stuff like getting ready for games but also the fun things we do on the bus and in between the games with each other.”
The Hawks enter the season ranked 11th in the country in the National College Baseball Writer’s Association poll. Quincy will play four games at USA Baseball Stadium in Millington, Tenn. and are looking to build off the success of the last two seasons when the Hawks were nationally ranked and hosted the NCAA regional tournament.
“We’re excited for the season so we hope everyone is excited to follow along with us and see what it’s like while we’re on the road. I’m the king of ‘mafia’ on the bus so everyone can see my tricks,” junior shortstop Brynn Martinez said with a chuckle.
The Hawks play GLVC foe St. Joseph’s College Friday at 1 p.m., Kentucky Wesleyan in a doubleheader Saturday, starting at noon, and Tiffin University Sunday at 11 a.m. before returning to Quincy Sunday night.
Fans can follow the Hawks on Snapchat, Facebook and Twitter to get updates on how the games are going.
