Being a husband, co-host of a podcast, and an assistant success coach is no easy task. Yet, Joseph Webb takes all these challenges head-on and juggles these responsibilities.

Webb is a graduate assistant at Quincy University. He is from Kansas City, Missouri, and transferred from Northwest Missouri State after being there from 2019-2021. He majored in exercise science and played football at QU, where he was a captain for two years.

Webb was a captain of the football team and an impact player on the field. Webb had over 150 tackles, five interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in his career. He was also an all conference defensive back multiple times.

As great as the stats are, the title of captain is what meant so much to Webb. Being a leader of the team is not something he took lightly, and having his teammates trust him was huge for him.

“Knowing that they know that when I show up, they are going to get the best version of Joe Webb means a whole lot,” Webb said.

Webb also has a podcast that he does with his friend Jonathan Casey. It is called the “It Gets Better Podcast”. Webb shares the videos on social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

The podcast mainly talks about faith, which is important to Webb. The two co-hosts have conversations about their walks of life and God for interested listeners. The podcast has 404 followers across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

“It is just us having a conversation, maybe someone will learn something,” Webb said.

Webb is engaged to a woman he met while attending Quincy. He let the world know via an Instagram post on July 6, 2024. For a lot of people marriage can be very scary, but Webb is confident and excited for the future.

“Whatever comes, I just want to do it with her,” Webb said

Joe Webb also had a huge impact on his coaches. Coach Aaron Lawrence is the defensive line coach at QU was with Webb at his old college as well. He stated that having their careers be linked with each other was special to him.

“It is awesome to see the growth,” Lawrence said.

Since graduation, Webb has been working as an assistant success coach in the Student Success Center. He plans on helping student athletes navigate through their struggles like he once did. He has helped students create LinkedIn profiles and has connected with several students in the QU community.

Saadia Ali Aschemann has been a success coach at QU for a while and shared her gratitude towards Webb.

“Joe has been a great addition to the success team and he adds a different layer and perspective that we may not be capable to provide,” Aschemann said.

Webb has a long list of achievements and recognition from his peers and coaches alike. Webb has made his mark in Quincy and is still blazing his trail. He is keeping his head high and is keeping God first.
