QU Students Travel to London

Over winter break, Quincy University students and faculty went on a 10 day trip to London, England through QU’s Study Abroad Program.

The trip to London has been a long-time tradition for the university. Dr. Megan Boccardi, associate professor of history, has been involved with the study abroad program since 2010.

“Every student that I have taken abroad has described the experience as life changing. Studying abroad exposes students to new places, new cultures and really a whole new world. College is the best time to travel,” Boccardi said. “It can be cost effective. You don’t have as many responsibilities yet. I think it is one of the most important pieces of a student’s education.”

Ten students attended the trip and spent seven days in London and three days in Dublin.

“It was an absolute blast. The trip was an amazing experience, and it has lead me to want to travel to even more places around the world,” QU junior Darek Lambert said. “I think everyone should step outside of their comfort zone every once in a while and really get out and see another part of the world. It is interesting to see that other places, although they may speak English, are vastly different than in the US.”
