How to find good food off campus

Finding a place to eat off campus can often times be a difficult decision. There are so many places to choose from it can often be hard to decide on a place to go. Choosing between a sit-down place or a restaurant, and then deciding what type of food can be difficult too.

Most students that live on campus at Quincy University eat in the cafeteria every day. If you are looking to explore some new restaurants, look no further these QU students will help you out.

Junior Quincy University student Jamaurie Coakley talks about his favorite place to eat off-campus.

“Qdoba is my favorite place to eat off-campus. It’s a Mexican chain food place I always get the burrito bowl when I go. I like it because you can sit down and eat and enjoy your self or if you’re in a hurry you can get it to go,” Coakley said.

“They have a lot of stuff that you can choose from. I never get sick of eating there, if you start to get sick of it you can just change up your order. The people that work there are always nice too, I would definitely recommend it if you haven’t tried it,” Coakley said.

Qdoba is a great place to eat if you are in a hurry or if you are looking to sit down, they provide a lot of different varieties of food for their customers to enjoy.

If you’re looking for a sit-down pizza place Quincy University Junior Kori Kay Obert has a recommendation for you.

“Pappos on Broadway is one of my favorite places to go out to eat in town,” Obert said.

“Their pizza is the best, and they have a great environment there. The appetizers are all really good, and it’s definitely a good place to go with friends to watch a game and grab a bite to eat,” Obert said.

Pappos Pizza also has live music on select nights. It is a great place to go if you are looking for live music and good food.

If you are in the mood for barbecue Quincy freshman Tyler Stokes can tell you about his favorite barbecue restaurant in Quincy.

“Brisket, pulled pork, and the ribs; it is all good. I always switch up my order when I go to Fatbacks and I haven’t been disappointed yet,” Stokes said. “They aren’t available for dine-in but you can still go through the drive-through. For anyone going there for their first time I would tell them to get the Big Q and the cornbread, the Big Q is brisket and pulled pork, it won’t disappoint.”

Fatbacks has a wide variety of barbecue no matter what you’re in the mood for. Fatbacks isn’t too far from campus located off of North 24th street in Quincy.

Whatever you are in the mood for Quincy has a wide range of restaurants that will be sure to satisfy whatever cravings you are having.
