Life around campus can get quite boring at times. Students and athletes going through their day to day routines day in and day out, things get repetitive. We all know that roommates can always find a way to get on your nerves. Even though they’re your friends for the most part, they can always find a way to get on your nerves. However, there seems to be one kind of friend in particular that never seems to do any wrong…well maybe sometimes. If you need a someone to make you smile, where else is there to look but to our furry friends.

Meet Chanel Kelliher, a black lab and beagle mix. She is only about two years old, you may think that she would get a bit bigger… but nope, that’s the beagle in her. She also has the beagle howl and those big ol’ beagle ears. Her owner’s name is David Kelliher. He is a senior transfer student at Quincy University, he spent is beginning college years playing baseball at UVA Wise in Virginia and is originally from Georgia. He came to QU for an opportunity to succeed in his dream of playing major league baseball. Along with him…came Chanel.

Kelliher runs an Instagram account for his beloved dog. He uses it as a platform to post videos and pictures of her for old and new friends to keep up with the crazy pup.

“The reason behind making an instagram account for Chanel was so that my old friends at my old college to see how she was doing. Also so that my new friends here in Quincy. Plus, it gives me a chance to make memories with her that I can cherish for the rest of my life,” Kelliher said.

Creating Instagram accounts for dogs or cats or any kind of pet for that matter has been a way for owners to share the love that they have for their years now. There have been all kinds of famous dogs and cats in recent history. Maybe Chanel will be the next big thing. You can find her content on Instagram with the username @freakydogchanel. The account was banned back in early September, so a lot of content was lost. However, Kelliher doesn’t plan to discontinue making posts anytime soon.

The content that they post on the account ranges from wholesome videos and pictures all the way to her getting the zoomies or rice on her nose. Chanel is going to be trying to work on her figure over the rest of the school year. She has to stay in shape for big future content plans that she has. She loves meeting fans however, so if you see her out and about around campus getting her steps in…don’t be shy to come up to her and say hi.
