All We Got: Kirkland Burton’s mission to inspire athletes
Kirkland Burton is a man of many titles. He is a coach, performance adviser, and personal trainer in Quincy, Illinois. He is also a father, husband, and mentor to tons of people across the community of Quincy.
Burton embodies qualities like dedication and discipline in his walk of life and he has turned his passions into a mission to inspire others. Thanks to his love for football and personal training, he launched his organization titled All We Got. Since then, he has been connecting with countless people within Quincy.
Burton grew up in St. Louis, Missouri facing hardships early on, dealing with the passing of his mother when he was just four years old. He started playing football at the age of six and since then it has become his passion.
Burton attended Mehlville High School. In his senior year, he received an opportunity to play football at Quincy University. He played five years of Division II football at QU.
After his playing career, Burton continued his connection to the sport by becoming a coach. He spent time coaching at Quincy High School. Now, he serves as the offensive coordinator for the Sprint Football team at QU.

“No matter what the age group is, being there throughout their life experience means a lot so whatever impact I can have on the kids that I reach, I find value in that,” Burton said.
Burton studied exercise science at QU. Along with lifting weights for football, he developed a love for personal training and wellness. He loved the process of working out and tapping into potential not even himself knew he had. He now strives to help others reach that potential through his business All We Got.
All We Got is a brand that Burton created centered around training and wellness. It also acts as an avenue for young athletes in Quincy to reach their dreams through exposure and camaraderie. Burton trains anyone in Quincy who is willing to put in the work. He believes that it is his job to make other people’s goals attainable.
Jonathan Van Hook, a sophomore at QU, took a different approach to the weight room after working with Burton for a full summer.
“Kirk changed my perspective on training as an athlete. He showed me how to train to be explosive and effective on the field instead of just mindlessly lifting weights,” Van Hook said.

For Burton, All We Got is less of a brand and more of a motto for life. Burton values the relationships in which he builds throughout his work and All We Got represents the value that those relationships have to him.
Logan Cannandy, a junior at QU, was born and raised in Quincy. Burton has coached him since his freshman year of high school and has left a strong impact on his life.
“He is the reason I really liked football because he got me into working out. His personality is very approachable and it is just hard to hate the guy,” Cannady said.
Burton is taking a holistic approach to wellness not only touching on physical values but emotional values as well. He is hoping to extend his brand further through the means of content creation and traveling the country with his 7 versus 7 football team.
With All We Got growing and his influence expanding, Kirkland Burton is not just building a brand. He’s building a legacy of strength, resilience, and inspiration for the people of Quincy and the next generation.
