QU Football Alumni start their journey playing at the next level

Post for Jaylin Vaughn signing to play arena football.

Many kids dream of playing professional sports. However, the reality is that the percentage of college football players that play after college is under two percent. To play football or any sport past college you have to be exceptional at what you do and be in the top percentile in the nation. Quincy University has two athletes that are furthering their football career past college. Jaylin Vaughn and Brock Inman have been training for months to further their playing career. This training is different than anything these athletes have done before, and is a new step for them both.

Brock Inman was a two-time first team all-conference middle linebacker for QU. He started his training after this past football season. In January Inman got an agent and attended his first scouting combine in Naples, Florida. This scouting combine is three days of straight football and has some of the top talent across the country. His latest combine was in Rochester, New York where there were a handful of NFL, CFL, UFL, and arena football scouts, all being opportunities to play at the next level.

“Throughout the months of January to April, I trained nonstop for weeks. After all these combines I have been just so grateful to have an opportunity to play at the next level. Now I’m currently waiting on any more opportunities,” Inman said.

Jaylin Vaughn is QU’s other football alumni that will be continuing his football career. Vaughn was named the defensive player of the year for the conference last season, and has had many eyes on him. After the previous season Vaughn continued to train, building both strength and speed. This type of training has been a consistent grind and a true test to his commitment to himself and the sport.

“After training for months, I got the great opportunity to play in arena football. Which will help me get my name out there for the UFL. I’ve started training with the team recently. I’ve also been trying to market myself on Instagram and Tik Tok to help get my name out even more,” Vaughn said.

Vaughn has officially been signed to the Oregon Lightning, a professional arena football team. This is a huge step in this journey and for a former Division II football player this can help open up more doors down the road.
