Alumni Day brings familiar faces and old memories for visiting alums
Alums were encouraged to join Quincy University‘s sixth annual Alumni Day on February 15. Alums were offered free lunch, followed by a scavenger hunt with QU gear as prizes. Then alumni were invited to attend two basketball games later in the evening. Alums also participated in security, selling snacks and tickets for the basketball games. The alumni spent much of the time reminiscing with each other over old times and how they were doing presently.

“We’re hoping that all of our alumni would come in, grab a button, pin it on, take a selfie, and post it on our alumni Facebook page. Anyone who participates will receive a little memento,” Maureen Kennedy, alumni service coordinator, said. “We can mail it to you or however you want it.”
Afterward, alums were encouraged to go on a scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt started at 1:00 p.m., with a list of scavenger items posted on the QU Alumni’s Facebook page. The “morning” items included a coffee cup, a key fob, a coupon, a rubber band, and a greeting card. Three bonus points were offered for anything with the QU logo on it. The “afternoon” items included a receipt, a phone charger, a membership card, a business card, and a book of matches. An additional three points were offered for a photo of an alum’s own diploma.

Alums then had free admission to men’s and women’s basketball games back–to–back. Both basketball teams competed against the Greyhounds of the University of Indianapolis. Both Hawk teams lost to the Greyhounds.
