Gray Gallery holds hidden art gems in Brenner Library
Art is something that people see in their everyday life, from taking a walk on campus or even driving around Quincy there is art all around you. One place on campus where you can find a lot of art is Brenner Library.
Art can be found in many places at Quincy University from walking down Penny Lane and seeing all the painted squares or the various sculpture gardens found on main and north campus. One space on campus that may be forgotten or overlooked by students is the Gray Gallery located in Brenner Library.

The art gallery in Brenner Library holds many types of art with what’s inside changing every few weeks. At this point in time, you can find paintings from Marilynne Bradley. Bradley’s art has a unique style compared to most art, her work focusses more on places and objects instead of people.
Her unique color usage and style caught the eye of many students, and they took the time to express how it made them feel.
“This is my favorite artwork, and it really makes me feel a sense of adventure with all the bright colors and the new landscape. And you can see the people walking around in the town, but it really isn’t about the people is more about the place and that’s what makes it interesting to me,” Braden Brown said.

Bradley’s art has given the chance to students to look at art in a different way and also has caught the attention of those students with her unique style and techniques in her work.
“What really caught my attention was that fact of how she used so many vibrant colors to portray her art, and I feel like that is where a lot of this adventure I sense is coming from,” Brown later said.
Marilynne Bradley’s art has inspired and amazed students on campus and given students the opportunity to have a different outlook on art and how they portray it. This opportunity for Bradley has seemed to pay off as she has reached many students with her work and allowed for more students to know about the unique art located in the art gallery.

Bradley’s art will soon leave the gallery to make way for something new.
