Quincy students coming up on class registration

Quincy University students are approaching the time to choose their classes for Fall of the 2023 semester.

From Apr. 11, through Apr. 14, students will get the chance to choose their classes for next year. Depending on how many credit hours students have will determine when they get to choose their classes for next year. Students with more credit hours than others will get the opportunity to choose their classes before other students, if students are in honors, they will get the chance to choose first no matter how many credit hours they have.

“I am pretty excited to be coming up on picking my classes for next year,” Jared Garcia said. “I get to pick very early since I am in the honors program. The honors program is very nice since I get to pick before everyone else even though I may have less credit hours than other people. I can’t wait to pick because I am getting deeper into my major and the classes are going to be a lot more interesting.”

Students are excited to pick their classes for next year since most are getting further into their majors and get to pick before most people due to being in the honors program. The honors program gives students a lot of benefits but one that a lot of students like about it is that they get to pick classes earlier than other students. Some students were willing to talk about how nice it is to be in the honors program so they can choose the classes they want before all the spots get filled up.

“I get to choose my classes earlier than most students since I am in honors which is really nice,” Simon Brush said. “I know that classes can fill up very quickly so it is very nice choosing early so I can get the classes I need to take before all the spots get taken up by other students.”

Not all students are in honors and get the chance to pick their classes early but still don’t mind the times they got to choose. Students who are not in honors or a senior don’t get to pick their classes the earliest but don’t go far behind them which they very much appreciate so they can choose the classes they desire. Some students express that they are happy about the time but just hope that they get the chance to pick all the classes they want and need to take.

“I get to choose my classes coming up soon and I am pretty excited about it,” Brandon Pickus said. “I don’t get to pick first but after the seniors and honors I will get my chance to pick so hopefully after them all the classes I need to take will still be open.”

Students will get their chance to pick soon, and some will pick earlier than others. The students who pick after honors are just hoping that all the classes they need to take are still available when it’s their turn.
