QU is starting up intramurals this semester. The Student Life Organization has made plans to have intramurals every week. 

With a wide range of sports, they are offering pickleball, dodgeball, basketball, wiffleball, darts, corn hole, kickball, sand volleyball,volleyball, spikeball, and co-ed flag football. 

Student Life plans to have even more intramural sports coming next year too. They will have intramurals in both the fall and spring semesters. 

“My favorite thing about intramural dodgeball is probably just getting to bond with my teammates and my classmates. it makes us closer and dodgeball is pretty fun,” Keegan Kingele said.

The Student Life Organization has been sending emails and you can sign up through that email or through the IMLeague app. Going through the app you will sign up with your QU email. Then you’ll link it to your Quincy University account. 

After that you’re going to click the three lines on the side. This leads you to the QU intramural page. On that page you can see the dates and times of all the sports offered.

Sign ups for dodgeball and darts have closed. But there are other sports you can sign up for in the future. Registration closes for each sport a few days before the game starts so make sure you sign up in time. 

“I am glad that they are adding more sports this year. I was bummed out when they only had one last year. So I am looking forward to it this year,” Rilee West said.

The app gives you the option to start a team or sign up as a free agent. Allowing students to participate even if they don’t necessarily have to have a team to sign up.

You’re able to join as a free agent or even just jump on by yourself. When you are picked up the app will notify what team has picked you up. 

“The IMLeagues app is helping us organize more sports better. It allows people that don’t have a team join a team so that we have more students participating,” Alexis Stufflebeam said. 

For the first intramural event, Student Life provided pizza for all the participants. The winners will also receive a new custom intramural T-shirt. There are prizes for each intramural sport. The prizes will be different for each sport.
