The men’s and women’s golf season has been in full swing

 The Men’s Golf team started their season at the Lindenwood Invitational on March 11 and 12. The tournament was held in St. Louis at the Missouri Bluffs golf course.

The men finished 13 out of 13 teams shooting a team total of 65 over par. For the first day, the men shot a total of 308-307 for their 36 hole total. The third day the men shot 302, which was their best score of the tournament. 

Leading the Hawks was Rilee West. West shot  69-75-70 rounding out to 214.  West finished tied for 12th at 1 over par. 

Coming in next for the Hawks was Jack Driscoll shooting 74, 77, 73 totaling 225 at 11 over par. 

Griffin Taylor shot 22 over, Patrick Ringwald shot 27 over, Ryan Kruse shot 26 over, and David Hudson shot 29 over, rounding out the scores for the Hawks.

The women start their season in bolivar Missouri at Silo Ridge Country Club for the Midwest Intercollegiate Invite. The women finished 8th out of 15 teams. 

“We started off very slow but we have been practicing on what we need to improve. We are starting to see the results from our hard work,” Ellissa Warren said.

Addie Eades lead the team shooting 85-79 for a two day total of 164, 20 over. Eades finished tied for 27th place.

Natalie Dearwester  shot a two day total of 23 over and was tied for 38th place. Karlie Schnepp shot 24 over par, Laci Novosel shot 28 over par and Elissa Warren shot 43 over par rounding out the scores for the Lady Hawks. 

Both the men’s and women’s tournament was the Klash in Kentucky at Perry Park golf resort. The men and women both traveled to this tournament. 

“We haven’t had the best season but we aren’t giving up. We are working hard and just need everything to fall into place,” Ryan Kruse said.

The first day the men struggled and shot a 317 team total. But they bounced back with a 301 on the second day. Their two day total was 618. This helped propel them into second place out of eight teams.

The Hawks then traveled north to the Lewis University invitational. The tournament was held at Cantigny golf course. 

The women’s team finished second out of seven teams. They shot a two day total of 658 with identical scores each day of 329. 

“The season isn’t over yet. Yes we have played bad but we still have two tournaments to show who we are and what we can do,” Jack Driscoll said.

The men’s team, however, finished 7th out of 8 teams. The men shot a good score of 301 the first day and followed it with a 331 the next day. They shot a total of 632.

 Next up for the men’s and women’s golf team is the QU invite in the GLVC championship tournament. The GLVC conference championship is held at Paradise point in Smithville Missouri.
